Building a GPS Tracker with Reyax GNSS Module

Hi everyone,

I have been experimenting with a GPS tracking project using the Reyax RYS352A GNSS module and the Heltec WiFi LoRa 32 V4 board. The idea is to build a compact tracker that can provide real-time location data for applications such as asset tracking, vehicle monitoring, and outdoor projects.

So far, I have managed to receive latitude, longitude, altitude, and satellite information from the GNSS module, and the results are quite promising in open environments. However, I noticed that the time-to-first-fix and signal quality can vary depending on the surroundings.

I'm curious to know:

  • Have you tried combining GNSS with LoRa or Wi-Fi for long-range tracking applications?
  • Are there any recommendations for reducing power consumption in battery-operated GPS devices?
